About – Angelika Weinekötter
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the silent language shared between living beings – those invisible threads that connect humans and animals beyond words. This sense of connectedness forms the foundation of my painting. My works are more than mere depictions: they explore the spaces in between – the subtle transitions between reality and perception, instinct and consciousness, the visible and that which can only be felt intuitively.
Through a meticulous technique of layered glazes, my oil paintings achieve a depth that reaches beyond the physical. It is not only about outer form, but about what lies beneath – emotional resonances, archetypal encounters that resist simple interpretation. My art traces the delicate lines between human and animal, between individuality and collective consciousness. It raises questions without offering easy answers: Where does the human end and the animal begin? Is it truly a separation – or merely a matter of perspective?
Since mid-2024, I have been represented by 33 Contemporary Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida. Most of my works are available online through the gallery on Artsy – clicking on the images of the paintings will take you directly to the corresponding listings with full details. Selected works are also available directly from my studio in Germany. My paintings have been exhibited internationally and are included in both private and public collections. While my studio is based in the Ruhr region of Germany, my art transcends geographical and conceptual boundaries. For those willing to engage, it offers not only the encounter with my paintings – but perhaps also with their own inner world.
